Delegative Processes

Delegation, as you have known it so far, does not work. With certainty. you have attended management courses where you learned how to delegate a task, how to monitor, and how to check that the task was done.

Nevertheless, in most of the cases, you happen to come across an employee with whom delegation does not work and the Monday morning dialogues go like this:

-Have you done the task?
-No.
-Why?
-Because I didn’t find the time.
-Can you give me a deadline on this?
-I will do it until Friday.

And the following week meeting arrives:

-Have you done the task?
-No.
-Why?
-Because I did not have time.
-Can you give me a deadline on this?
-I will do it until Friday.

And this happens again and again, and you feel that delegation doesn’t work how it should.

Likewise, the reason delegation does not work is that people do not feel that the respective task belongs to them, or they do not feel how this helps them in what is essential for them.

The company of the future is a place where teams that work in the same physical space or not, competent, independent teams, and where each team member carries out their work to completion. These are teams that self-regulate and learn how to hold each other accountable so that everyone finishes their tasks.

For delegation to work perfectly, there is a series of roles that must be filled in each team, and people must support each other to be responsible for the accomplishment of all tasks, both in teams and amongst teams. And, in order to move the project from one department to another, employees need to do this is a reasonable manner by keeping in mind both the individual and the group’s end-result.
